Evil/sin in its essence, is repugnant. So why did the people of the region of Gerasenes in Mark 5, plead with Jesus to leave their region, when He cast out Legion? I expected them to be excited. Welcome Him into their homes with an atmosphere of festive joy, for the deliverance. Instead, they prevented the deliverer from entering their region!! Jesus was just at the fringes, but He had to cross to the other side of the Lake.
Which regions of our lives our we preventing the Lord from entering? Which regions of our lives are we pleading with the Lord to stay away? Which regions of our lives have we become so comfortable with sin and desire not to be delivered? What sins have we so much enjoyed that it has become part of our lives, and we just don't want to let go; an integral portion, an untouchable area. Today may we look deep within and receive the deliverance of the Lord.
