FOR US HE CAME

O! The pain, the pain,

The pains of labour,

All these she had to habour

O! The fear, the fear,

The fear of being caught,

But yet she was taught,

That for us He came.

He thought of the disgrace;

Her, being pregnant without even an embrace

He felt the confusion in his mind,

His baby is to become one of a kind,

But yet he was not blind to see,

That for us He came.

And there he lay,

Soundly asleep in the hay.

His tiny feet and hands they watched in dismay;

“How can this baby save us one day?”

But yet they must believe without delay,

That for us He came.

Then arrived the wise men

Presenting gifts of gold, incense and myrrh.

What a child! even the Magi called him sir

And the bright star was there.

But yet in all this, it was clear,

That for us He came.
